Sicily is sunny, britht and juicy. It's like a mixed salad. It's well-known that Sicily was dominated by different nations and cultures at different times, and it have definitely taken in from them all the best.
It is like a mixed salad with various ingridients, that produce magnificent taste:you can find there a great variety of beaches (both, sandy and pebble); mountains with wonderful views, and even the active volcano Etna.
My trip to Sicily started with it's capital city - Palermo.
This city is very colourful and interesting. For the main touristic attractions I suggest you to go to the city center. There I'd recommend you to visit the Cathedral of Palermo ( It is characterized by the presence of different styles, due to a long history of additions, alterations and restorations, the last of which occurred in the 18th century. However, this eclectic appearance makes it look even more charming); you should surely visit Teatro Massimo Vittorio Emanuele (it's one of the biggest theaters in Europe), as well as Piazza Pretoria and Palazzo dei Normanni.
To hide from the sun and to adimre different exotic plants you can to to Botanical Garden and then to take a stroll along the promenade.
If you want to try local food I stongly recommend you Antica Foccaceria San Francesco (Via Alessandro Paternostro 58). In addition to typical Sicilian dishes you can try sandwiched with spleen! (Maybe it sounds not so nice, but it tasetes really delicious!))
